As a nonplayer of MTG, I had only seen art of the planeswalking lion-man and I've gotta apologize for underestimating him as a character. I had him pegged as a stereotypical brute, but his character is deeper than I had imagined.

The Phyrexian plague seemed pretty badass too. Nicol bolas is definitely my favorite baddie though

Hmm… I think Emrakul to some extent would be incorruptible. That being said, Norn would attempt to compleat it. However, being that Emrakul caused great pain to the minds of those that could not comprehend her, even took Jace a second time to be able to understand Emrakul, the beacon of her message would distort the minds of the Phyrexians, maybe even to warp them to believe that Emrakul IS the One. With the Phyrexians spread out across multiple planes as the Madness of Emrakul spread it would consume and warp exponentially more than Emrakul visiting a single plane, feeding mana back to Emrakul - thus may even warp Emrakul into a World Anew.

I've always loved Tibalt. Half of it is his design. It's simple. It works.

Finding Emrakul Lore from Worldwake just doesn't exist on UA-cam anymore. I hate the SEO status quo.

The biggest villain in MTG is Wizards of the Coast. Not even close.

I actually disagree that the Eldrazi would be susceptible to Compleation, or in general the Glistening Oil. It seems to me they would have enough mental fortitude and willpower, as well as magical _power_ in general, to easily shed any Phyrexian influence, no matter how much Oil touches them, _especially_ the Titans, and _especially_ Emrakul and Kozilek. (In fact, Emrakul specifically could probably use the Oil to dominate the _Phyrexians_ like Elesh Norn does, once a link is created between them via said Oil). Ulamog, I'm not so sure. Say, if the Phyrexians were actually successful in Compleating much of the Multiverse in the War, and Ulamog were to somehow come back (don't know how that would be possible, but this is hypothetical), and the guy were to invade any Compleated plane where the Praetors were present and amassing large enough armies, I actually think the Phyrexians could, at the very least, fend off the Titan. Kill it? Probably not. But damage it and maybe scare it off back into space? Probably. As for Emrakul and Kozilek? I don't think so. I think the Phyrexians could easily fend off Eldrazi forces, like drones and hunters and all the other Eldrazi, but Emrakul and Kozilek themselves? No. Not a chance. They would break any control Elesh Norn has on the Oil, and dominate the minds of any and all Phyrexians on the plane. Now, if the Phyrexians _knew_ of any impending Eldrazi invasions, _knew_ what the Eldrazi were and how to combat them, and had plenty of time to prepare... well then, the whole thing changes. The Praetors, putting their minds together, could most definitely come up with plans to fight the Eldrazi and maybe even dominate them. They would need to further experiment with the Oil to make it affect Eldrazi, and they would need to build defenses against Eldrazi mind manipulation, but would it be possible? Oh, absolutely. _Anything_ is possible in Magic. For example, let's say they Compleated even more Planeswalkers, and one of them was Sorin Markov. Norn could make a Compleated Sorin create _another_ Avacyn-like being to defend their planes, and that _alone_ would at least keep some of the Titans like Emrakul at bay, like it did before. But then let's say they were to experiment with that power and turn it from a defense into a _lure,_ or a trap... kind of like the Immortal Sun, but for Eldrazi, not only trapping them on the plane, but also maybe dampening their powers/abilities, and making them susceptible to certain things, like the Oil, or just magic in general. (If the Gatewatch could find a way to trap the Eldrazi on a plane using magic, so too can Phyrexians with their own Compleated Planeswalkers). Then they'd absolutely be able to control the situation. But as it stands, I don't think the Phyrexians had much knowledge of the Eldrazi, nor any idea how to combat them if they were ever to come face to face. That's the thing. The Praetors would need the necessary knowledge and prep time. Otherwise, I have to hand it to the Eldrazi in just about _every_ scenario. The Titans are just _waaaay_ too powerful. Even Nicol Bolas, had he been successful in his war on Ravnica and become a literal multiversal Planeswalker-god, wouldn't be able to fend off Titans such as Emrakul. And the three Titans we know of aren't even all of them. We know there's more out there that we haven't seen yet, possibly much bigger, much scarier threats than the ones we have seen. When you create a monster that even the Lovecraftian horror called Cthulu couldn't beat, you have to understand that _nothing_ else, aside from God Himself, can beat it. That's Emrakul right there. And yes, I fully believe Emrakul is unbeatable. WOTC made a huge mistake in creating such an absolutely terrifying abomination, and then telling us that there's even more out there that could be worse. Like wtf. Edit: Sorry for the essay guys. But _one_ more thing. We have to keep in mind that the Eldrazi Titans, specifically, are not "whole" when they enter a plane. If an Eldrazi Titan, no matter which one, were to try to enter a plane in its full, physical, _true_ form, the plane would be torn asunder. I forgot exactly how WOTC explained it, but the plane would either implode on itself, or simply _explode._ Either way, that means mass destruction, and therefore the complete and utter ceasing of the plane's existence. Boom. Gone. Nothing left. Anyway, with that being said, keep in mind that the idea of "Compleating a Titan" actually means _attempting_ to Compleat a _part_ of the Titan, which in turn, means attempting to take control of the Titan's mind when their mind isn't even fully _there._ Remember, a Titan "entering" a plane is akin to them dipping their "hand" in to a pond. Their mind, like the rest of their body, is not actually, fully, present. So if the "Emrakul" that we saw on Zendikar or Innistrad happened to touch some Glistening Oil, sure, the Oil could spread throughout her and maybe start turning her in to a machine, but in no way would it Phyrexianize or "Compleat" her, because, well... she's not actually there! It's not actually her! She'd be like "Nope!" and just dip. That, or she'd use the Oil to her own advantage and start manipulating the Phyrexians using their newfound link via said Oil. Well, maybe... there are some things she can't manipulate, like the undead of Innistrad. But in that case, it was because Innistrad _itself_ was in her way, and a plane's Worldsoul is a lot harder to dominate than, say, the Phyrexians and their fake, pagan gods.

how blue control can be a vilain when rakdos keep being so pushed UW control is pushed back to tier 2 or 3 on each format, complain about counterspell while you can grief reanimate and curve ragavan into bowmasters

It would be dope if we got a "what if" set of cards where you have multiple planes battling it out and or working together for a greater cause

remember , the eldrazi titans we saw are only the "shadow" or "image" or "reflection" or "projection" or their original bodies that exist in a higher dimensions into the 3D space...... , are are you supposed to truly kill such thing ? even at success , what you complete / defeat / kill is only a representative of the eldrazi titans

Personally I hope they somehow end up in Muraganda through an Omenpath, that way we can get an epic dinosaur vs Sliver conflict, where the oozes native to the plane pick off the stragglers. A fight between the Mimeoplasm and whatever sliver commander is currently in charge of the hive would be awesome.

This oddly was in one of my saved music playlists and instead of skipping it I listened to it again. Odric had such a good story which you told beautifully. I only wish it transferred to a good card for him. Hopefully we will get a new card if we go back to Innistrad for him.

dude reading into the descriptions of what the eldrazi *do* is terrifying, like ulamog smells so bad you want to die. Kozilek kills people over and over again, and then theres emrakul who speaks for herself

The eldrazi will return.Most of the people that had formerly battled her are gone. And with new horizons being a sort of summary of the events that took place it only makes sence that they will return soon

Thoughts after the new mh3 dropped?

The writing has been so bad since War of the Spark. I swear their writers are unbearable which pisses me off because I used to like the lore and the stories.

While this is cool, and i actually have an opposite theory funny enough, we know Emrakul really imprisoned herself in the moon on purpose. Between this and the chess example of Jace and Emrakul we also know her intelligence isn’t just good, but unbelievably high and leagues ahead of any of the characters in play. If we’re being honest if Elesh Norn would ask her two Phyrexian planeswalkers about Emrakul she’d quickly learn that this eldrazi titan is may be in fact too dangerous to consider. Furthermore, considering Emrskul’s intelligence to plan ahead, sealed herself in the safest time capsule in existence for the strategic advantage that the phyrexians and others now cannot access her. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but Emrakul would be beyond difficult to get close to, overpower, or trick in order to infect her. And even then. When two beings who are both considered a piece of a large ‘one’ clash. Which mind would win?

This is interesting because it could go so many ways. Emmy mind bottling norn. Or the other way. Or emmy developing its own mind for what it thinks the ones true purpose is like norn’s child. OR OR OR NEW CARD GIN, THE GREAT ONE

Sorry, but the Eldrazi coming to Zendikar and Nahiri/Sorin enlisting the help of Ugin is just plain wrong. The three of them LURED the Eldrazi there to trap them, not tried to trap them after they came on their own.

Hopefully we get an update video with all the new Eldrazi stuff, specifically the 5 color identity but devoid Azlask as well as the fusion of Kozilek + Ulamog in Ulalek

Killcannon, for being a relative easy target, then Machinehead, the guys with the big money often tak a while longer to pin down. Then Mauler Twins, but he'd let them live for his next one or two plots, if they help him. Omni Man, like Homelander, would be his main-target, but nothing he can get his fingers on very easily. Also Omni Man would probably only be handled by his change of mind after his... Incident... With Mark.

One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention in the Could Emrakul be compleated section is that Glistening Oil once compleated a Worldsoul

Always thought it was weird how Mark Rosewater kept saying that Ulamog and Kozilek were confirmed perma-dead when nothing in the lore supported it. Modern Horizons 3 we're getting a new card for each titan so who knows what his thinking was.

First of all, this is impossible. Emrakul is all powerful. Remember her real body is in the blind eternities... such non-sense. But interesting question, just not possible.

Oh my god, the eldrazi... I like them. But they aren't evil, just misunderstood. I wish you could tell this story with more nuance, since that was the original goal of WotC.
